Ok – confession time. I really have a bad wardrobe. I didn’t realize that because most of the times I am just in my casuals. A few days back one of my cousins came to town and was staying with me for a night when she commented that I really could improve my wardrobe collection.

Being the sports fan I am, I never miss out on any games, specially if they are sunday tickets! But you know what happened the other day? I missed a big game!

I was browsing through Time Warner sports, the schedule of which I had already downloaded from the website, when my friend called me up. One thing I love about the summer is that with the lack of school occupying my time, I can sit down and watch the afternoon re-runs of sitcoms on my satellite tv deal. This summer, the old CBS sitcom Yes, Dear is the one that has captivated my attention the most.

The show revolves around 2 couples. Greg and Kim are budding Hollywood big wigs while Jimmy and Kristine (Kim’s Sister) are a blue collar pairing who have moved into Greg and Kim’s guest house. The show revolves around the conflict between the hustle and bustle personality of Kim and Greg versus the lazy, care free attitudes of Kristine and Jimmy. This clash of characters often leads to hilarious and heartwarming situations.

Although an almost forgotten show when it originally aired, “Yes, Dear” is cleverly written, containing a lot of character development and more character than your usual family sitcom. There are over 5 seasons worth of episodes and most of them have kept me interested from beginning to end. If you are home one afternoon, turn on your TV and look for this show. It is bound to be in syndication on one station you receive. When you find it, just sit down and enjoy this wonderfully underrated sitcom.

A few days back I met one of my college friends. He was in town and we hadn’t seen each other since a long time. He is  the regional sales manager of a company and is planning to move to North Carolina.

It’s that time of the year when my friends and I go to the lake – an annual tradition. We try to spend every other Saturday there cooling off. The ritual is to meet at my house Friday night for dinner and packing. Early Saturday morning we wake up, eat a light breakfast, pack the bags, and load my dog Pepper. Before leaving we run through our check list of supplies for food and fun needed during the day, set the home security alarm system that we got from www.inhomesecurity.com, and hit the road for our 45 minute ride. Once there we fish, ride jet skis, sun bathe on the shore, and relax after a full week of work and stress over a few beers and and cocktails. My dog loves the day trip as much as anyone.
