Sites In this day and age, the Internet is all about social networking. By that I mean it is about sharing our experiences, whether it is through videos on youtube, through emotions on Myspace, or through pictures on Smilebox. Smilebox allows its users to create a slide show online with ease and simplicity. You can edit, upload, and share all your photos using Smilebox. You can then compile a online slide show of your favorite pictures to share with friends so they too can enjoy your experiences. All it takes is five minutes to choose your scrapbook, add photos, commentary, and music, and blog it, email it, and just share it. Never has simplicity and design come together as well as this. You can take it one step further by creating Ecards to share with your friends and family on any holiday occasion. Or if you are on a trip you can send real time postcards from pictures recently taken. Just upload it, create a postcard and send it electronically to everyone.

Sites I hate bloated websites that take more time to load then it does for me to do what I want on the site. Visiting Dictionary.comis one of the examples that I speak of. This site is filled with unnecessary crap that I do not wish to waste my bandwidth on, such as Ads. This is why I found two other dictionaries that are made for speed.
The first on is NinjaWords. This site will pull up a definition instantly and it is ridiculously simple. Also nice is the search history on the side to refer back to later if you so desire.
The second is called DefinR. This site is quite similar to Ninjawords in that it is meant for speed while being very simple. I heard this site is faster for pulling up definitions, however, at these speeds I cannot tell.

Sites I stumbled across a great site and I have no other choice but to show the readers. It is a Fake Name Generator Site. Now you must be thinking, big deal I can just think of my own name. Well, can you think of an address, social security number, phone number and more. This site is very helpful when you have to come across a registration. I also use this kind of stuff when I submit for a free sample online. I hate to give out my number so I use a fake one generated as well as the fake name. I do not like to give out my information so I will only go as far as giving my address, to get the free sample at least, rest is fake. This site is cool because they can generate millions of names and you may choose if it should be female or male.

Sites A great embellishment for your site is to add your very own. There are numerous wordpress themes to choose from that can give your site the boost it needs. Before I chose the theme I have now on my site, I went to WordpressTheme.com to find one that will fit my site. There are so many to choose from that I had a difficulty on finding the perfect one. They have over 20 pages of top quality themes to choose from. All themes are offered as direct downloads so you can upload it and choose your theme as soon as possible.
Within the 251 themes offered, I am quite sure you will find one to your liking. For example, Theme: Iridium is a very nice looking one. If I had another blog, I would most likely choose this as my main theme. This is just one of the many they offer so visit the site and create a whole new look to your site. If a site is not aesthetically pleasing, then chances are you might lose some reader audience. Do not lose quality readers due to lack of a pleasing interface, visit WordpressTheme.com and create a whole new looking site in a matter of seconds.

Sites A great way to edit photos is through Photoshop or Gimp but what do you do when you are at a computer that doesn’t have these programs? Easy, just edit it online. Two sites that are very easy to use for editing photos online is Picnik and Snipshot. Both sites are very intuitive and can be esaily learned in a matter of minutes. Additionally, you can do a wide variety of editing such as croping, sharpen, change hue, and much more. If you want to do advanced photo editing then these sites aren’t for you. However, if you wish to change a photo before you add it to myspace, I suggest using these sites because they can do what you most likely need.
It is really neat to use and a fun way to pass time. I really like the sharpen tool in Snipshot because of the detail that can be seen in a photo. Take a look and see what you can do with a simple website.

Sites We all know that there are thousands of songs on Myspace and yes we enjoy visiting the pages that contain them but we long for more. We long for the mp3s to download and listen on our computer. We do not want to go on the Internet to listen to it every time. To download any form of media from myspace, visit http://file2hd.com/?myspacemp3. All you must do is select the whole URL from the Myspace page, paste it into the white box, select I have read and agree to the Terms of Service, and choose the file type. In your case it will probably be music.
Whats great about this site is that it works on other sites as well. You can download videos from Youtube and Break with the File2HD site.

Tips A firewall is a very important part of the security of any computer or network. A firewall can protect you from port scanners and hackers that can exploit an open port. By exploiting a port, the hacker can install malware applications and steal valuable information from your computer. I would recommend downloading another firewall if you are using Windows Firewall because this firewall is a one way firewall. In other words, it only blocks incoming connections and not connections going out of your computer. a 2-way firewall can protect you from incoming and outgoing connections.
Now, it is important to make sure your computer’s firewall is up and running. An easy way to check this is to do a simple port scan that will notify you of any opened ports. Gibson Research Corporation offers a comprehensive port scan that can be ran right from your browser. It will notify you of hidden ports, opened ports, or blocked ports.

Sites There is no bigger insecurity then having an unsafe browser. Many Trojans and viruses infect your computer through an ill-equipped browser which is why many viruses are targeted through Internet Explorer. There is a browser security test that will see if your borwser can be exploited. You have the option to run all tests, choose specific test or to choose tests that just apply for your browser. I am running Opera 9.26 and I tried all tests and it passed all tests. In other words, it could not be expolited by known techniques.

Tips Countries Like Iran and China create firewalls that blacklist some websites. I believe Internet users have the right to visit any site they like which is why many people offer proxies to view websites. “A proxy server is a server (a computer system or an application program) which services the requests of its clients by forwarding requests to other servers” (Via Wiki). In other words, you are viewing websites from other servers and not your ISP’s servers. A great site to find hundreds of proxy servers is http://proxy.org/. They offer websites based on location and quality.
What if they block that site? Use Google as a proxy server then. To do so use Google’s website Translator. Choose a website and translate to any language to your own language. Use this to access your website: http://www.google.com/translate?langpair=en|en&u=www.yoursite.com Just change www.yoursite.com to your own site.
