Access Blocked Websites

Posted under Sites, Tips

Countries Like Iran and China create firewalls that blacklist some websites. I believe Internet users have the right to visit any site they like which is why many people offer proxies to view websites.  “A proxy server is a server (a computer system or an application program) which services the requests of its clients by forwarding requests to other servers” (Via Wiki). In other words, you are viewing websites from other servers and not your ISP’s servers. A great site to find hundreds of proxy servers is http://proxy.org/. They offer websites based on location and quality.

What if they block that site? Use Google as a proxy server then. To do so use Google’s website Translator. Choose a website and translate to any language to your own language. Use this to access your website: http://www.google.com/translate?langpair=en|en&u=www.yoursite.com  Just change www.yoursite.com to your own site.

How To Defrag Your Hard Drive

Posted under Software, Tips

The first question is why do you need to defrag your Hard Drive. The reason to defreag yur HDD is that everytime you install software it is installed in parts. When you continually install software and remove software these parts in a sense become disorganized. When you need to access a software it will take more time to reorganize these parts to run the program. Defragmenting your HDD will analyze these parts and rearrange them for optimal performance.

To Defrag your HDD… go to Start-> All Programs->Accessories->System Tools->and then click on Disk Defragmenter. Make sure no programs are running and click Defragment for your Main Drive, usually the “C:”. This should be done atleast everty two months to keep your HDD at top performance.

Download Music Free With Google and More…

Posted under Tips

Did you know that Google has access to thousands of songs for you to download for free? I’m not going into the legality of the subject but you do not need to download any software to find music with Google. In fact a quick search with the right search string can help you find the music you seek. Click this link to search for Kanye West’s new album using Google. Where you see “Graduation” in quotes, just replace it with the song, album or artist’s name. Hit enter and Google will search for the music on different servers.

The second method is called www.Beemp3.com. This site is similar to Google in that it will locate music with a quick search but I think Beemp3 has a more extensive list. Usage of this site is pretty self explanatory.

After You Format Your Computer…

Posted under Sites, Technology, Tips

After you format a computer there are many things that need to be done to get it ready for basic use. Right after you format any computer and place Windows XP/2000/Vista on it you should update it. How do you update it? Just visit www.update.microsoft.com. Choose either express if you are a baisc user and custom if you have knowledge about the updates.

After you update your computer and restart again and make sure all the updates are downloaded, you want to install flash, Shockwave , and Adobe Reader. Once you download and install those three items I then install Java. Once you install that you just need to protect your new operating system. To do so download or buy an antivirus suite of your choosing.
