Completely Erase A Hard Drive

Did you know it is possible to recover a significant amount of data from a hard drive that was recently formatted? The reason so is because the data that was previously there was not completely written over, allowing thieves to recover the data. The only way to completely erase all the data from a hard drive is to use programs such as Darik’s Boot and Nuke, also known as DBAN. DBAN works differently from formatting a computer because it can completely write over the whole hard drive with random numbers. You cab boot from DBAN with either a flash drive or a CD/DVD. If you are ever going to sell your computer or give it away, make sure you completely erase all the data using DBAN.
