SSL

Posted under Security by admin

Secure Socket Layer, or SSL, is now an industry standard in security online. Consumers see it as a sign that their data is safe, and encrypted, and also a sign that they are dealing with a decent sized company, and in some cases, one that they can trust. For an ecommerce website, SSL is an important part of their online presence and reputation. It works by means of SSL enabled servers having two “keys”, public and private, and a transaction between the users browser and the server, using both keys, means that the keys are never openly transferred, making the method very secure. SSL connection prevents hackers from eavesdropping, tampering, or message forgery. Whenever you do a transaction online be sure to do it only on a websites that have a Secure Socket Layer. For example, Paypal has TLS v1.0 256 bit AES (1024 bit DHE_RSA/SHA). Essentially TLS and SSL are the same thing.
